In May 2015, my husband completed not one, but TWO graduate level degrees. He now holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters of Finance or as I like to say: He is a MASTER of Business Administration AND a MASTER of Finance. To celebrate his incredible achievement, in lieu of a gift I decided to do what I'm a master at - an event.
If you search Pinterest for, "graduation party ideas," you get a lot of high school, some college, and some pre-school suggestions. My vision was more sophisticated. One of J's more sophisticated attributes is his love of jazz. I hired a jazz trio and decided on a southern inspired menu catered by Low Country Quisine as an ode to our love of Charleston, SC.
The guitar player from the Jazz Trio is Nick DiGennaro. He's the best. AND he played at our Rehearsal Dinner! I booked him without even realizing the connection! And no party is complete without a little something sweet - we enjoyed gold and white cake balls from Sweets on a Stick that resembled champagne bubbles. The "One Smart Cookie" cookies were also from Sweets on a Stick inspired by Pinterest.
The rain kept us inside, and I chickened out on giving a public toast, but all in all it was an evening to remember. Cheers!
