Our new bundle arrived four months ago. We are so filled with love that we've caught ourselves tearing up at simple everyday moments like holding our baby boy while big brother plays his ukulele before bedtime. I could attribute the spontaneous (happy) tears to hormones, but my sweet husband can't.
Coming up with a second boy nursery design was challenging. I knew I wanted a peaceful green and natural wood color palette, but the direction of the decor elements were muddled. Eventually, my vision began to untangle and take form. Like his brother's room, we wanted a space that could grow with him. The colors steered me into exploring the outdoors, but stopping short of the currently popular adventure themes. My thoughts went to the serenity I've felt during my travels in European countrysides. Wooden wired lanterns hang from the ceiling, pictures of farm animals were printed from our collection of travel photos, and a hand-lettered canvas sign casually points to the window beside the rocking chair beckoning, "Let's go outside."
